We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist to join the Protein Sciences group to accelerate pre-clinical therapeutic programs.
This role will be primarily supporting our early drug discovery pipeline by generating fit for purpose protein production. The preferred candidate will have broad laboratory training, deep scientific curiosity, and a positive approach to working in a team-based research environment.
Typical Responsibilities:
- High-throughput small scale purifications to large scale protein production using affinity, ion exchange, and size exclusion chromatography
- Protein characterization including conformational, stability, as well as other biophysical attributes using analytical SEC, CE-SDS, DSF and LC-MS
- Develop and optimize methods for protein production and purification
- Support developability assessment to identify lead targets to development stage
- Support protein engineering work with purification and characterization of novel targets
- Independently execute experiments, analyze results, and maintain a meticulous record of the data and sample tracking
- Present research updates at project team meetings
- Work collaboratively with supervisor and other cross functional team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. degree in biochemistry or molecular biology with 2-5+ years of industry experience or B.S and M.S. degree in related discipline equivalent with 5+ years industry experience
- Strong experience in protein biochemistry, protein expression, purification and biophysical characterization; familiar working with bispecifics is a plus
- Hands-on, extensive experience with protein purification from small to large scale using Akta system and relevant chromatographic techniques (affinity, IEX, mixed-mode, HIC, SEC), and HTP automated chromatography method
- Extensive experience in protein characterization tools including SEC/RP-HPLC and CE-SDS, DSF and LC-MS
- Hands-on experience in mammalian expression systems (HEK and CHO) is a plus
- Demonstrate ability to work independently, effectively in a face-paced, collaborative and highly multidisciplinary team environment to meet project timelines
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, and maintain detailed, well-organized record keeping in ELN

The annual salary range for this position is $125,000 USD to $160,000 USD. This salary range is an estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay for this posted position and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation individual education, experience, tenure, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible for annual performance bonus, benefits, paid time off and participation in company stock options.
