Sr Scientist – Immunology

3T Biosciences is solving a major bottleneck in the field of immunotherapy – identifying novel targets that can be used to generate therapies to treat cancer in broad patient populations. We are developing transformative T cell receptor directed bispecific T cell engagers for cancer and other immune-related diseases. Our proprietary experimental and computational technology allows us to identify novel T cell receptor targets as well as clinical toxicities to develop safe and effective therapies.

We’re committed to making a difference for patients.
Our ambitious, creative, and collaborative team makes 3T Biosciences the perfect engine to drive therapeutic solutions to reality. We’re looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated team-players to bring their talents to a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced immunologist who can lead and execute in vitro studies of bispecific T cell engagers for solid tumor indications. This role will support projects in multiple phases of 3T’s pipeline, spanning target discovery and validation, through IND-enabling and translational. As part of a small, dynamic team, you will have opportunities to gain exposure and contribute to multiple facets of the drug development process.

About You

You are a self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and inquisitive scientist who is driven by a desire to advance new medicines for patients. You hold high standards of scientific rigor for yourself and your colleagues, and apply this rigor to achieve program and company goals. You are a thought leader who seeks out the best approaches and analysis methods to address team and company goals. You are a team player who contributes to a positive an supportive working environment.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Conceive, design, and execute in vitro immunological studies with primary immune cells and tumor cell co-cultures, including cytokine release, cytotoxicity, and flow cytometry-based assays.
  • Support early target discovery and validation projects through generation of TCR-transgenic cell lines, screening and validation of putative peptide/HLA targets in collaboration with 3T-TRACE team, and review known target biology to support target nomination for internal and external programs.
  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams. Collaborate with colleagues in Protein Sciences and Program Development to meet tight timelines and advance candidate T cell engagers in multiple stages of development.
  • Keep apprised of activity in the T cell engager field, and proactively seek out and implement appropriate methods and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD + 4-6 years (Sr Scientist); or Masters degree + 8-10 years (Sr Scientist). Title and compensation will be commensurate with relevant experience.
  • Deep expertise in immunology and in vitro methods for studying primary immune cells, especially in the context of immune-oncology. Relevant techniques: MSD or ELISA, Incucyte or similar, flow cytometry and FACS, and other platereader-based functional assays (e.g. LDH release).
  • Experience working in a drug discovery/development environment
  • Strong organizational skills, including a demonstrated ability to advance multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Clear and detailed recordkeeping, e.g. electronic lab notebook entries, experiment reports, and regulatory documents.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting discovery and/or development of bispecific T cell engagers
  • Familiarity with fully human models for preclinical drug efficacy and safety testing, e.g. organoid or organ-on-a-chip models, assessing toxicity against primary human cells, etc.
  • In-depth understanding of TCR / pMHC recognition and peptide antigen processing
  • Experience supporting submission of IND or similar regulatory package
  • Experience with Benchling for project tracking/management
